Dear Students,
I wanted to let you know that my husband, John A. Irick, died unexpectedly on June 7th . Our newspaper tribute to him as a man, husband, and father can be read here.

You may not have seen John working behind the desk nor teaching your yoga class, but he was a vital partner in all that I (and Alyssa) did at Bikram Yoga Chapel Hill and Equilibrium Hot Yoga. John was an integral part of the team and he was eagerly looking forward to the new studio's construction and opening. It was really OUR project.

In the next one to two years I will be focusing primarily on the emotional and physical work that I need to do and therefore I will not be opening the new yoga studio. I am instead starting a yoga therapy practice. I will be offering private, semi-private, and group instruction in developing yoga and/or meditation practices, in addition to conducting Workshops in Stress Management using both yoga practices and yoga philosophy. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like further information.

My new web-site is equilibriumyogatherapy.com Please bookmark it, as the bikramyoga-chapelhill address will expire at the end of August. This summer I completed the Integral Yoga Stress Management Teacher Training Program and received my certification. This is the program associated with Dr. Dean Ornish . In October I will again be re-certified in Bikram Yoga, maintaining my Bikram Certified Instructor status, as well.

I thank you all for the opportunity to be your teacher. I truly believe that my daily mindfulness practices of yoga and meditation have helped me immeasurably through this challenging time, and I hope that your practice will continue to bear its fruits of peace, compassion, and strength.

Be well, be mindful, and continue your yoga practice wherever you are!

Namaste,
Naeda
